Australasian Paediatric Advanced Life Support regularly recruits new instructors to assist teaching and courses across Australasia. The process our becoming an Australasian Paediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor is outlined.
Be selected as an Instructor Potential (IP) on your Australasian Paediatric Advanced Life Support course. The selection process is based on exceeding the course curriculum in addition to meeting teamwork and communication skills requirements.
Once selected as an IP, you will be required to undertake an Australasian Paediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor Course. The Instructor Course covers the adult learning principles and the teaching approach that we have adopted on our courses to maintain our course consistency and quality. Participants who successfully meet the requirements of the instructor course will be converted to Instructor Candidate (IC) status.
ICs are required to undertake two (2) mentored courses which provide ICs with additional support and guidance. ICs must be marked as competent by the Course Director on both placements to move to full instructor status and be able to instruct on Australasian Paediatric Advanced Life Support courses.
